Ben Swain is the most recent appointment as a partner at Murdoch Clarke. He practises in the commercial department and has developed experience in relation to:

real property - all legal aspects relating to property from large commercial developments (whether strata developments or subdivisions), purchasing or selling (residential or commercial), leasing, mortgaging or general property advice;
-
business sales and acquisitions - whether involving freehold or leasehold property (or neither);
-
negotiating, drafting and completing commercial agreements and transactions for clients;

advising in relation to corporate structure and set-up, including trusts, trust law and corporations law;
-
taxation - including Federal taxation (Goods and Services Tax or Capital Gains Tax) or State-based taxation (Stamp Duty or Land Tax); and
-
private client matters such as estate planning, estate management, Wills and Powers of Attorney.
Ben is a current board member of the Tasmanian Athletic League. He has a long history of competing in athletics having represented Tasmania on a number of occasions and continues to enjoy competing in athletics.
He has international experience having worked in London for a period of time on a number of large commercial property-based transactions. This international experience adds to his extensive Tasmanian-based legal experience.
