Carey Higgins joined Murdoch Clarke in 2005 after several years working with another Hobart law firm. She is experienced in residential and business conveyancing, lease negotiation and development (residential and commercial), advising on business and commercial arrangements, mortgages, securities, Wills and Powers of Attorney, Deeds and other commercial matters.

She is the current Secretary of the Hobart Community Legal Service Committee of Management, a volunteer solicitor for the Hobart Community Legal service evening advice sessions, past President 2004 and 2005 of the Law Society Young Lawyers Southern Committee, current member and past Vice President and past Secretary of the Women Lawyers Association of Tasmania, past Secretary of the Lions Club of Hobart Inc., a past member of the Law Society Professional Development Committee and has acted as a student mentor for the Women Tasmania/Department of Education mentoring programme for several years.
